What is TYSABRI?

• TYSABRI is a prescription medicine approved for adult patients with relapsing forms of MS to slow the worsening of disability that is common in patients with MS and decrease the number of flare-ups (relapses). Because TYSABRI increases the risk of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare brain infection that usually causes death or severe disability, TYSABRI is generally recommended for patients that have not been helped enough by, or cannot tolerate, another treatment for MS. TYSABRI does not cure MS and has not been studied for longer than two years or in patients with chronic progressive MS.

Is TYSABRI Effective?

• TYSABRI has been proven to positively affect the key components of MS:
  • Frequency of flare-ups
  • Disease progression

• TYSABRI may also:
  • Positively affect the number of brain lesions detectable on MRI*

*It is not known if MRI findings relate to how well your MS is progressing.

TYSABRI has been shown to improve mental function and physical disability in some patients.

In a 2-year study, some people taking TYSABRI were considered to be free from MS disease activity, because they had no fewer flare-ups, no disease progression, and no new or newly active MRI lesions.

What makes TYSABRI different?

1. TYSABRI works in a different way.
   • TYSABRI is an antibody, not an interferon (AVONEX^® (interferon beta-1a), Betaseron^® (interferon beta-1b), Rebif^® (interferon beta-1a)) or glatiramer acetate (Copaxone^®)^†
   • TYSABRI is thought to inhibit white blood cells from getting into the brain and attacking nerves
   • Keeping these cells from attacking nerves is believed to result in fewer brain lesions that cause multiple sclerosis symptoms
   • The way in which TYSABRI works has been studied, but the exact way that TYSABRI works is not fully known
2. TYSABRI is taken differently than other multiple sclerosis medicines. With TYSABRI:
   • You can avoid the hassles of self-injection
   • You only have to think about taking your MS treatment once every 4 weeks

The Effectiveness of TYSABRI MS Therapy
TYSABRI may offer many people with relapsing forms of MS the strength to reach for their high hopes. TYSABRI has been proven to slow the worsening of disability and lower the frequency of flare-ups. TYSABRI may reduce the number of new and newly active MRI lesions.^* TYSABRI has also been shown to actually improve mental function and physical disability in some people.
